Chapter 27 Configuring SNMP Verifying SNMP Configuration Send feedback to [email protected] Assigning SNMP Switch Contact and Location Information You can assign the switch contact information, which is limited to 32 characters (without spaces), and the switch location. To assign the information, perform this task: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Command Purpose switch# configuration terminal Enters configuration mode. switch(config)# snmp-server contact name Configures sysContact, the SNMP contact name. switch(config)# snmp-server location name Configures sysLocation, the SNMP location. switch(config-callhome)# show snmp (Optional) Displays information about one or more destination profiles. switch(config)# copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Saves this configuration change. Verifying SNMP Configuration To display SNMP configuration information, perform one of the following tasks: Command show snmp show snmp community show snmp engineID show snmp group show snmp sessions show snmp trap show snmp user Purpose Displays the SNMP status. Displays the SNMP community strings. Displays the SNMP engineID. Displays SNMP roles. Displays SNMP sessions. Displays the SNMP notifications enabled or disabled. Displays SNMPv3 users.
