Hard drive cover NOTE: The hard drive cover is available in the Plastics kit, spare part number 702877-001. Description Plastics kit Spare part number 702877-001 Before removing the hard drive cover, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29). Remove the hard drive cover: 1. Loosen the 2 captive hard drive cover screws (1). 2. Slide the hard drive cover away from the computer (2), and then lift the cover off the computer (3). Before removing the hard drive cover, follow these steps:
1.
Turn
off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
29
).
Remove the hard drive cover:
1.
Loosen the 2 captive hard drive cover screws
(1)
.
2.
Slide the hard drive cover away from the computer
(2)
, and then lift the cover
off
the computer
(3)
.
Reverse the removal procedures to install the hard drive cover.
