Service cover Description Service cover Service door (RCTO) Spare part number 704441-001 713547-001 Before removing the service cover, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29). 5. Remove the hard drive cover (see Hard drive cover on page 32). Remove the service cover: 1. Loosen the 5 captive Phillips screws (1) that secure the cover to the computer. 2. Tilt the door up from the computer slightly (2), and then lift the cover up and off the computer (3). Before removing the service cover, follow these steps:
1.

the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is

3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

).
5.
Remove the hard drive cover (see

).
Remove the service cover:
1.
Loosen the 5 captive Phillips screws

that secure the cover to the computer.
2.
Tilt the door up from the computer slightly
