Director Software
Description
The HP EFC Server also provides hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) server functionality.
Use of this protocol with a standard Web server allows the download of HP EFC Manager,
Product Manager, and Fabric Manager applications from the HP EFC Server to remote
workstations. The server is configured to limit the maximum number of concurrent
connections to nine (one local, eight remote).
User Interface
The HP EFC Server implements the HP EFC Manager application along with the Product
Manager and Fabric Manager applications to provide the user interface for operators to
control and monitor directors or other managed products. These applications can also
operate on workstations attached to the customer intranet that function as remote clients.
HP EFC Manager Application
The HP EFC Manager application provides a Java-based GUI for the FC-64 and allows
limited management of other supported devices. The application operates locally on the
HP EFC Server or through a network connection from a remote user workstation. The
application operates independently from the director or other products managed by the HP
EFC Server. Application users can perform the following common product functions:
Display the operational status for each managed product.
Define user names, passwords, and user rights for access to the HP EFC Server and HP
EFC Manager application.
Define access rights to the HP EFC Server and managed products locally or from remote
user workstations.
Configure e-mail notification for system events.
Display HP EFC audit, event, session, and product status logs.
Open an instance of the Product Manager application to manage and monitor a specific
product.
Show routes (data paths) between two end devices attached to switches and directors
in a multiswitch fabric.
