Rear Panel Jacks Antenna Input To switch between Cable and Air input, go to the Channel Manager option to change the signal source CABLE or AIR (see page 41). Component: Y-PBPR and Audio Inputs INPUTS 1 and 2 provide Y-PBPR and Audio jacks for connecting equipment with this capability, such as a DVD player or Set Top Box. You may use COMPOSITE video signal for both inputs. NOTES • Your component outputs may be labeled Y, B-Y, and R-Y. In this case, connect the components B-Y output to the TV's PB input and the components R-Y output to the TV's PR input. • Your component outputs may be labeled Y-CBCR. In this case, connect the component CB output to the TV's PB input and the component CR output to the TV's PR input. • It may be necessary to adjust TINT to obtain optimum picture quality when using the Y-PBPR inputs (see page 35). • INPUT 1 and 2 (Y/VIDEO) can be used for composite video and component video input. HDMI 1, 2 (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ABOUT HDMI - HDMI is the next-generation all digital interface for consumer electronics. HDMI enables the secure distribution of uncompressed high-definition video and multichannel audio in a single cable. Because digital television (DTV) signals remain in digital format, HDMI assures that pristine high-definition images retain the highest video quality from the source all the way to your television screen. Optical Out (Digital Audio) This jack provides Digital Audio Output from a HDMI source or digital program channel to your audio device that is Dolby® Digital and PCM compatible, such as an audio amplifier. NOTE *Manufactured under license from Dolby Laboratories. "Dolby" and the double-D symbol are trademarks of Dolby Laboratories. IR Out This jack provides IR output to your external components (VCR, Cable box, DVD player, etc.). This connection will allow you to control the external components with their original remote through your Hitachi Plasma Television. (For more detail see page 48 and the included Easy Graphic Guide). Power Swivel Connector The Power Swivel cable is connected from here to the Table Top Stand Base swivel slot in order to use the Power Swivel feature (see page 49). For Special AV control use only.
