Security Settings Turning On the SIM PIN A Personal Identification Number (PIN) protects your SIM card from unauthorized use.Ifyouincorrectly enter the PIN three consecutive times, the PIN will be blocked and the phone prompts you to enter thePINUnblockingKey (PUK).Ifyou incorrectly enter the PUK 10 consecutive times, your SIM card wit become permanentlyinvalid.Ifthe PIN and PUK are not providedwiththe SIM card oryounolongerhave them,contact yournetwork operator.Whenthe SIMPINis turned on,youwill have to enterthe correct PIN eachtime the phone ifpowered on. 1. Onthe Settings screen,touch Security> Setup SIMcard lock. 2. Select the Lock SIM card check box. 3.Enterthe SIMPIN,andthentouchOK. CO To change the SIM PIN. touch Change SIM PIN. Setting a Screen Unlock Pattern To protect your data from unauthorized access, set a screen unlock pattern and require ft to be used every time your screen is locked. 1. Onthe Settings screen,touch Security> Screenlock > Pattern. 2.Followthe onscreeninstructions to set a screen unlock pattern. 3. Touch Continue. 4.Drawthe screen unlock pattern again andtouch Confirm. 90
