GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS • Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers encircling the chain saw handles, with both hands on the saw and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Kickback forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken. Do not let go of the chain saw. • Do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder height. This helps prevent unintended tip contact and enables better control of the chain saw in unexpected situations. • Only use replacement bars and chains specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect replacement bars and chains may cause chain breakage and/or kickback. • Follow the manufacturer's sharpening and maintenance instructions for the saw chain. Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to increased kickback. See instructions under the heading Lubricating cutting equipment. • Long-term exposure to noise can result in permanent hearing impairment. So always use approved hearing protection. WARNING! Long term inhalation of chain ! oil mist and dust from sawdust can represent a health risk. WARNING! This machine produces an ! electromagnetic field during operation. This field may under some circumstances interfere with active or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, we recommend persons with medical implants consult their physician and the medical implant manufacturer before operating this machine. WARNING! Never allow children to use or ! be in the vicinity of the machine. Since the machine is easy to start, children may be able to start it if they are not kept under full surveillance. This can mean a risk of serious personal injury. Therefore disconnect the battery when the machine is not under close supervision. WARNING!
