English Troubleshooting If you are having a problem with your unit, check this list for a possible solution before calling for service. If you cannot solve the problem from the hints given here, or the unit has been physically damaged, call a qualified person, such as your dealer, for service. Symptom Power does not come on. No sound is heard. Hard to listen to broadcasts because of noise. Loaded discs cannot be ejected. The disc does not play. Loaded cassette cannot be ejected. Impossible to record. Operations are disabled. Unable to operate the unit by the remote control. Possible Cause Action The power cord is not connected to an Insert the plug into the socket. AC outlet. • Connections are incorrect or loose. • A pair of headphones is connected. • Check all connections and make corrections. (See pages 6 to 8.) • Unplug the headphones from the PHONES jack. • Antennas are disconnected. • The AM loop antenna is too close to the unit. • The FM antenna is not properly extended and positioned. • Reconnect the antenna correctly and securely. • Change the position and direction of the AM loop antenna. • Extend FM antenna and orient to the best reception position. • The AC power cord is not plugged in. • Plug in the AC power cord. • The Disc Lock function is in use. • Cancel the Disc Lock function. (See page 19.) The disc is upside down. Put the disc in with the label side up. The Cassette Lock function is in use. Cancel the Cassette Lock function. (See page 20.)
