Replacing the fan assembly This procedure describes how to remove and replace the fan. 1. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the cover" on page 122. 2. Pivot the drive-bay assembly upward to gain access to the fan assembly. 3. Disconnect the fan cable, power switch or LED cable, and temperature sensor cable from the system board. See "System board connectors" on page 121. Note: Make sure you note the location of the fan cables when you disconnect the cables from the system board. 4. Remove the plastic fan mount behind the bezel by releasing the retaining tabs with your fingers and sliding the fan mount out of the chassis. 140 ThinkCentre Hardware Maintenance Manual
