4. Position the replacement memory module over the memory connector. Make sure that the notch 1 on the memory module aligns correctly with the connector key 2 on the system board. Push the memory module straight down into the memory connector until the retaining clips close. 5. Slide the drive bay assembly towards the rear of the chassis until it snaps into position. 6. Reinstall the front bezel. 7. Go to "Completing the FRU replacement" on page 88. Replacing the CMOS battery If the CMOS battery fails, the date, time, and configuration information (including passwords) are lost. An error message is displayed when you turn on the computer. Important Refer to "Safety notices (multi-lingual translations)" on page 6 for information about replacing and disposing of the battery. CAUTION: When replacing the lithium battery, use only Part Number 33F8354 or an equivalent type battery recommended by the manufacturer. This procedure describes how to remove and replace the CMOS battery. 1. Remove the cover. See "Removing the cover" on page 71. 2. Locate the battery. See the system board illustration for your machine type at "System board connectors" on page 70. 3. You might have to remove any PCI adapters that impede access to the battery. 4.
