Operating Instructions continued OSM Turn Off: The OSM control menu will stay on as long as it is use. In the OSM Turn Off submenu, the user can select how long the monitor waits after the last touch of a button to shut off the OSM control menu. Time can be set between 10-120 seconds, in 5 second increments. OFF TIMER: Monitor will automatically power down if the monitor is inactive after a user-determined length of time passes. OSM Lock Out: This control completely locks out access to all OSM control functions except Brightness and Contrast. When attempting to activate OSM controls while in the Lock Out mode, a screen will appear indicating the OSM controls are locked out. To activate the OSM Lock Out function, press SELECT, then right control button and hold down simultaneously. To deactivate the OSM Lock Out, press SELECT, then left control button and hold down simultaneously while in the OSM menu. ON TIMER (TV input only): The monitor can be set to turn on automatically from 1 to 12 hours after the monitor is shut off. Timer can be set between 1 and 12 hours, in 1 hour increments. LED BRIGHTNESS: Adjust the brightness of the LED on the front power button. HOT KEY (PC1, PC2 input only): When this function is activated, the brightness and contrast of the monitor can be adjusted without entering the OSM menu. DVI MODE (PC1 input only): Select the input type for use in DVI Mode. DVI-PC is for use with PC input. DVI-HD is for DVD or other types of high definition input. RESOLUTION NOTIFIER (PC1, PC2 input only): The Resolutions Notifier warns the user if the input signal to the monitor is at the optimized resolution of 1680 x 1050. If the monitor detects a signal that is not at the optimized resolution, after 30 seconds a warning message will appear on the screen. FACTORY PRESET: Selecting the factory preset allows the user to reset most of the OSM control settings back to the factory settings. Individual settings can be reset by highlighting the control desired to be reset, and pressing the RESET button. CCD CONTROL (TV, VIDEO1 input only): Select the Closed Caption mode (OFF, CC1, CC2, TEXT1, TEXT2). CCD BACKGROUND (TV, VIDEO input only): Set the background color of the closed captioning (BLACK, GRAY, TRANSPARENT). Closed Captioning (CCD) Mode CC1 CC2 TEXT1 TEXT2 [Captions] is for the program you are viewing. [Text] is for additional information such as news reports or a TV program guide. This information covers the entire screen and viewing the TV program is not possible. Text may not be available with every [CC] program. Closed Captioning and Text modes may vary by region.
