This application presents the gear shift operations. Follow the gear shift
recommendation as closely as possible in order to keep consumption
low.
The gear shift recommendation takes account of various factors, e.g.
speed, engine load, torque, position of the accelerator pedal and others.
As the result the gear shift recommendation is always optimally adapted
to the current driving situation.
1
The current engine speed is shown in the outer ring.
2
The gear shift, the current gear or the gear shift recommendation are
shown in the middle of the circle. The gear shift appears when you
press the clutch, when the reverse gear is engaged or when the gear
unit is in idle.
3
As long as the engine speed is in the blue range, no gear shift
recommendation is given. The current gear is indicated inside the circle.
4
The optimal gear shift speed is indicated by the white line in the outer
ring. The gear shift recommendation is shown inside the circle. At which
speed the gear shift recommendation is given depends on the current
driving situation.
5
When the speed rises above the recommended gear shift speed, this
part is shown in grey. The gear shift recommendation continues to be
shown inside the circle. Regardless of any shift recommendation, the
fraction of the speed with which you travel at 78 mph (125 km/h) or
higher is always shown in grey.
