Auto Mode Shooting in the Auto Mode In the A (auto) mode, you can set image mode, white balance, continuous shooting and color options in the shooting menu, and take pictures. 1 Press the shooting mode button in shooting mode. The shooting-mode selection menu will be displayed. Camera focuses on the subject in the center of the monitor. Auto mode 7 D Focus Lock To focus on off-center subject, use focus lock as described blow. • Be sure that the distance between the camera and the subject does not change while focus is locked. 7 Position the subject in the center of the frame. Press the shutterrelease button halfway. 1/60 F2.8 Confirm that the focus area is green. 1/60 F2.8 Continue holding down the shutterrelease button halfway and recompose the picture. Press the shutterrelease button the rest of the way down. B Available Functions in A (auto) Mode In addition to the items in shooting menu, flash mode (A 26) can be changed and self-timer (A 28), macro mode (A 29) and exposure compensation (A 30) can be applied. 31
