Beep G button ➜ B setup menu If On is selected, a beep will sound when the camera focuses in single-servo AF (AF-S or when shooting stationary subjects in AF-A focus mode), when focus locks in live view, and while the release timer is counting down in self-timer mode (0 54, 55). The beep will not sound when Off is selected. In quiet shutter release mode (mode J; 0 5, 53), this option is not available and a beep will not sound when the camera focuses. The current setting is shown in the information display: 3 is displayed when the beep is on, 2 when it is off. Rangefinder G button ➜ B setup menu Choose On to use the exposure indicator to determine whether the camera is correctly focused in manual focus mode (0 62; note that this function is not available in shooting mode M, when the exposure indicator instead shows whether the subject is correctly exposed).
