Connecting with Onkyo RI Components By connecting an Onkyo component with jack to the unit by using an cable and a digital cable or an RCA cable, you can link the unit's power and input selection and enable operation with this unit's remote controller (*). After connecting the unit and the Onkyo component with a digital cable or RCA cable (Ä page 15 to 17), perform the following operations. 4 Press B/A on the remote controller to select the jack to use for linking. The flashing of the input source LEDs changes each time you change the setting. 1 When linking with a CD player When connected to the D1 jack, make it so only the "D1" LED is flashing (the default value is "D1"). When connected to the LINE 1 jack, make it so only the "LINE 1" LED is flashing. 1 When linking with a tuner When connected to the D2 jack, make it so only the "D2" LED is flashing (the default value is "D2"). When connected to the LINE 2 jack, make it so only the "LINE 2" LED is flashing. 1 When linking with a dock or network audio player When connected to the D3 jack, make it so only the "D3" LED is flashing (the default value is "D3"). When connected to the LINE 3 jack, make it so only the "LINE 3" LED is flashing. 5 Press SETUP on the remote controller. D/C/B/A CD Player SETUP 1 Connect the cable. When there are two jacks, both jacks work in the same way. You can connect either one. 2 Press SETUP on the remote controller. SETUP does not work when MAIN IN input is selected. Select an input other than MAIN IN to operate. 3 Repeatedly press D/C on the remote controller. 1 When linking with a CD player Select so that D1 and LINE 1 light (or flash). 1 When linking with a tuner Select so that D2 and LINE 2 light (or flash). 1 When linking with a dock or network audio player Select so that D3 and LINE 3 light (or flash). En 26 A connection to the jack is not enough for the units to operate as a system. The units must also be connect properly by a digital cable or an RCA cable. Refer to "Remote Controller" (Ä page 10) for operation of connected devices. Note • cables can be connected in any order. • Some functions may not be supported depending on the product even when an connection is used. • The feature on this unit supports Onkyo CD players, tuners, network audio players, and docks only. It does not work properly with other devices such as MD recorders. • Only auto-power on and direct change are supported for CD players. • Refer to the instruction manual of the component with the jack for details. * With (Remote Interactive), you can use the following special functions: ∫ Auto Power On When you start playback on a component connected via while the integrated amplifier is on Standby, the integrated amplifier will automatically turn on and select that component as the input source. ∫ Direct Change When playback is started on a component connected via , the integrated amplifier automatically selects that component as the input source. ∫ System Off When you turn off the integrated amplifier, the components turn off automatically.

After connecting the unit and the Onkyo component with

the following operations.
A connection to the
jack is not enough for the units to
operate as a system. The units must also be connect
properly by a digital cable or an RCA cable.

of connected devices.
Note
cables can be connected in any order.
• Some functions may not be supported depending on the
product even when an
connection is used.
• The
feature on this unit supports Onkyo CD players,
tuners, network audio players, and
docks only. It does
not work properly with other devices such as MD
recorders.
• Only auto-power on and direct change are supported for
CD players.
• Refer to the instruction manual of the component with the
jack for details.
* With
(Remote Interactive), you can use the
following special functions:
Auto Power On
When you start playback on a component connected via
while the integrated amplifier is on Standby, the
integrated amplifier will automatically turn on and
select that component as the input source.
Direct Change
When playback is started on a component connected via
, the integrated amplifier automatically selects that
component as the input source.
System Off
When you turn off the integrated amplifier, the
components turn off automatically.
