Network Settings 1. Select your method of network connection - Wired or Wireless... a. Wired Settings (default) When DHCP checkbox is selected, the adapter will obtain the IP address from the DHCP server on the network. Deselect this checkbox to manually input the IP address settings. Note: Ethernet cable must be attached to adapter from network switch in order for IP address to be obtained. Y ou can choose to Enable/Disable DNS Update. When enabled, the adapter will register its hostname with the DNS server, allowing access to the unit through its hostname. Press [Next], and then continue with Shared Folder Configuration... b. Wireless Settings Connect to a Wi-Fi network by pressing [Wireless Discovery]. Note: n If necessary, see Before You Begin > Connection method is known. n SSID field, e.g., NETGEAR62, will be automatically populated. You can also manually input the SSID information, if the adapter cannot detect the SSID through Wireless Discovery. n If Wireless Discovery is selected, the Security Mode and Encryption Mode fields are automatically populated. 2.
