Troubleshooting Problem The unit does not display the caller's name and/or phone number. The handset display exits the Caller List or phone book. You cannot page the handset or base unit. You cannot have a conversation using the headset. Cause & Remedy • You need to subscribe to a Caller ID service. • Other telephone equipment may be interfering with your phone. Disconnect it and try again. • Other electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering with Caller ID. • Telephone line noise may be affecting Caller ID. • The caller requested not to send his/her Caller ID information (p. 26). • If a Caller ID box is connected between the unit and the telephone wall jack, disconnect the Caller ID box or plug the unit directly into the wall jack. • Do not pause for over 60 seconds while searching. • The handset is too far from the base unit. • The handset user is making an outside call, viewing the Caller List/phone book or listening to messages. Wait until the IN USE/CHARGE indicator light goes out. • The handset or base unit is in use. Try again later. • Make sure the headset is connected properly (p. 50). • If "SP-phone" is displayed on the handset, press [ ] to switch to the headset. Answering System Problem The Answering System is on, but incoming messages are not recorded. You cannot listen to recorded messages. " FULL " is displayed and the ANSWER ON indicator flashes rapidly. No new messages are recorded. 54 Cause & Remedy • The recording time is set to "Greeting only". Select "1 minute", "2 minutes" or "3 minutes" (p. 21). • Memory is full.
