Troubleshooting Symptom Cause and/or Corrective Actions The melody or beep sounds for 5 seconds. • Moisture condensation has occurred. c Remove the cassette and leave your camcorder for at least one hour to acclimatize. (p. 152) • Some troubles has occurred in your camcorder. c Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate your camcorder. While charging the battery pack, the CHARGE lamp doesn't flash. • Charging is completed. (p. 11) • The battery pack is not properly installed. c Install it properly. • Something is wrong with the battery pack. c Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility. You cannot charge the battery pack. • The POWER switch is not set to OFF (CHG). c Set it to OFF (CHG). While charging the battery pack, the CHARGE lamp flashes. • The battery pack is not properly installed. c Install it properly. • Something is wrong with the battery pack. c Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility. The power goes off although the battery remaining indicator indicates that the battery pack has enough power to operate. • Charge the battery pack fully again so that the indication on the battery remaining indicator is correct. No function works though the power is on. When you set the POWER switch to VCR or OFF (CHG), if you move your camcorder, you may hear a clatter sound from inside your camcorder. • Disconnect the power cord of the AC power adaptor or remove the battery, then reconnect it in about one minute. Turn the power on. If the functions still do not work, open the LCD panel and press the RESET button under S VIDEO jack using a sharp-pointed object. (If you press the RESET button, all the settings including the date and time return to the default.) (p. 161) • Your camcorder is not a malfunction. Additional Information 147
