When [Face Detection] is set to [On] and the subject to be tracked is a face, if the face disappears from the screen while the camera is tracking, and then returns to the screen, the camera focuses on that face again. • If you trigger [Smile Shutter] while tracking a face, the face becomes the target of the smile detection feature. • If you set a face as a target, the camera tracks the body when the face is not visible on the LCD screen. You can set whether to preferentially-track a certain face or not using [Face Priority Tracking] (page 155). 86GB

Tracking the face you want to shoot
The camera stops tracking a subject when the subject moves off of the screen. When [Face
Detection] is set to [On] and the subject to be tracked is a face, if the face disappears from
the screen while the camera is tracking, and then returns to the screen, the camera focuses on
that face again.

If you trigger [Smile Shutter] while tracking a face, the face becomes the target of the
