Troubleshooting I cannot perform a local HotSync® operation (continued) B Is your CLIÉ handheld properly connected with the plug adapter and the USB cable? B Is there sufficient memory space in your CLIÉ handheld? Delete any unnecessary data/files and then perform the HotSync® operation again. B Are you using the same user name that is used for another CLIÉ handheld? Change the user name. Verifying your computer B Is Palm™ Desktop for CLIÉ installed? B Is the operating system on your computer compatible? The following operating systems are compatible with your CLIÉ handheld. Operating systems other than the following are not supported. • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional • Microsoft Windows Me • Microsoft Windows XP Note Upgraded versions of the operating systems listed above are also not supported. B If you are using Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP, log in as an "Administrator". B Is the USB cable properly connected to your computer? B Is (HotSync) displayed in the task tray (Notification area) at the bottom right of your computer window? If not, click [Start], select [Programs] ([All Programs] for Windows XP)[Sony Handheld], and click [HotSync Manager] to start HotSync Manager. B Is [Local USB] in the shortcut menu selected? (You can display this by clicking (HotSync) in the task tray (Notification area) at the bottom right of your computer window.) If not, select [Local USB]. Continued on next page 19
