To return to the display for selecting a media type Press x STOP, then press TOP MENU. About MP3 audio tracks MP3 is audio compression technology that satisfies certain ISO/MPEG regulations. You can play back DATA CDs (CD-Rs/CD-RWs) recorded in MP3 (MPEG1 Audio Layer 3) format. However, the discs must be recorded according to ISO9660 Level 1, Level 2 or Joliet format for the recorder to recognize the tracks. You can also play discs recorded in Multi Session. See the instructions supplied with the CD-R/CDRW drives and the recording software (not supplied) for details on the recording format. Note on Multi Session discs If MP3 audio tracks are recorded in the first session, the recorder will also play MP3 audio tracks in other sessions. If audio tracks in Music CD format are recorded in the first session, only the first session will be played back. z Hints • Since a disc with many trees takes longer to start playback, it is recommended that you create albums with no more than two trees. • When playback of all the MP3 audio tracks within the album finishes, the recorder stops. ,continued 63

Playing MP3 Audio Tracks
You can play MP3 audio tracks on DATA CDs
(CD-Rs/CD-RWs).

Press DVD to control the DVD recorder.

Place a DATA CD on the disc tray.
When you load a DATA CD which contains
MP3 audio tracks and JPEG image files, the
display for selecting a media type appears.
If you load a DATA CD which contains only
MP3 audio files, the MP3 display appears.
Then you can skip step 3.

Select “Music,” then press ENTER.

Select the desired directory, then press
ENTER.

Select the desired track, then press
ENTER.
The selected track starts playing.
When a track or album is being played, the
title is shown in a box.
To stop play
Press
x
STOP.
To play repeatedly
Press REPEAT repeatedly during playback.
Off: does not play repeatedly.
File: repeats the current track.
Folder: repeats the current album.
To return to the previous display

About MP3 audio tracks
MP3 is audio compression technology that
