20 Getting Started Turning the gigabeat® On and Off Turning the gigabeat® On and Off The gigabeat® and its components are shown in the following illustration and their functions described below. 1 1 POWER/HOLD switch 2 Back button 3 Quick button 2 4 Up/Down/Left/Right button 3 5 Enter button 4 6 RESET button 5 7 USB port 8 Strap holder 6 9 Earbud/REC jack 78 9 (Sample Illustration) 1 POWER/HOLD switch To turn on the gigabeat®, slide the switch towards POWER. You can also disable the controls on the gigabeat® to prevent them from working, if they are pressed unintentionally, by sliding the switch towards HOLD. 2 Back button Returns you to the previous screen. Holding this button down for 1 second or more returns you to the main menu screen. 3 Quick button Displays the Quick menu. 4 Up/Down/Left/Right button Use the Up/Down/Left/Right button to move the highlight bar in the selected direction. 5 Enter button Performs the function selected by the highlight bar. 6 RESET button 7 USB port The gigabeat® is equipped with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 port.
