24 Getting Started Disconnecting the gigabeat® from the computer NOTE You cannot use the gigabeat® when "USB Connected" is displayed. NOTE ❖ Operation cannot be guaranteed if you are connected to the computer via a USB hub. ❖ When using a third-party general-purpose USB AC adapter to charge the gigabeat®, ensure that the supply voltage is 5V. However, note that normal operation cannot be guaranteed. ❖ If a USB AC adapter is used to charge the gigabeat®, the battery level display on the gigabeat® screen changes as shown below. (Sample Illustration) Unplugging the USB cable from the computer NOTE When the gigabeat® is connected to a computer, do not disconnect the gigabeat® from the computer while "Do Not Disconnect" is displayed on the gigabeat® screen. Only disconnect the gigabeat® when "USB Connected" is displayed. Disconnecting the gigabeat® when "USB Connected" is displayed may prevent normal startup. If this happens, reconnect the gigabeat® to the computer and then disconnect it again when "USB Connected" is displayed.

Disconnecting the gigabeat® from the computer
You cannot use the gigabeat
®
when “USB Connected” is displayed.
Operation cannot be guaranteed if you are connected to the
computer via a USB hub.
When using a third-party general-purpose USB AC adapter to
charge the gigabeat
®
, ensure that the supply voltage is 5V.
However, note that normal operation cannot be guaranteed.
If a USB AC adapter is used to charge the gigabeat
®
, the
battery level display on the gigabeat
®
screen changes as
shown below.

To disconnect the gigabeat
®
, unplug the USB cable from the
computer.

When the gigabeat

is connected to a computer, do not disconnect
the gigabeat
®
from the computer while “Do Not Disconnect” is
displayed on the gigabeat
®
screen. Only disconnect the gigabeat
®
when “USB Connected” is displayed. Disconnecting the gigabeat
®
when “USB Connected” is displayed may prevent normal startup. If
this happens, reconnect the gigabeat
®
to the computer and then
disconnect it again when “USB Connected” is displayed.
