Troubleshooting Solving Printing Problems If you have any problems with the operation of your printer, refer to the table below for suggested remedies. Printer Operation Problems Problem The printer will not print at all, or a file sent from the client/server will not print. Action I Make sure the printer is on-line. I Turn off the printer, wait 15 seconds, then turn on the printer. I Make sure the printer driver is properly installed and the correct options are selected. I Check with your network administrator to see that the printer is powered up, connected to the network and that the network is operational. I Check front panel messages for "Paper Jam," "Cover Open," etc. I If the port (parallel or network) the printer is connected to is disabled, enable it. To verify that it is enabled, check the Configuration Sheet for the port you are using to see if the Port Enable item in the appropriate Interface Menu is set to On. If it is set to Off, set it to On and try again. I If the printer has printed recently, do the following: I Attempt to print a Configuration Sheet. For information on printing a configuration sheet, refer to the section Printing Printer Reports on page 45. If it does not print, check the support links at www.xerox.com/officeprinting/1235support for further assistance. I If the Configuration Sheet prints, check to see that the printer is configured properly. I If the printer is configured properly, check the Configuration Sheet to confirm that the correct PDL is enabled for the port or protocol you are using. I If the correct PDL is enabled and the printer continues not to print, check the support links at www.xerox.com/officeprinting/1235support for further assistance. If you have any problems with the operation of your printer, refer to the table below for
suggested remedies.

Action
The printer will not print at
all, or a file sent from the

Make sure the printer is on-line.
Turn off the printer, wait 15 seconds, then turn on the printer.
Make sure the printer driver is properly installed and the correct
options are selected.
Check with your network administrator to see that the printer is
