Managing Printer Usage Front Panel Buttons and Their Functions (cont'd.) Button Menu Down Item Up Item Down Description Press Menu Down to take the printer off-line and enter the menu system. Press Menu Down again to scroll the list of menus. Menu Down is also used to enter the digit 5 (five) when a password is requested for releasing or deleting a Secure Print or Proof Print job. The following conditions also apply: I If a menu item, value or action is displayed, pressing Menu Down returns the display to the top level menu list and disregards the display of the item, value or action item. I If the front panel displays a fault message when Menu Down is pressed to enter the menu system, the fault is re-displayed when the menu system is exited (if the fault is still active). Press Item Up to scroll the list of items that apply to the current menu. Item Up is also used to enter the digit 2 (two) when a password is requested for releasing or deleting a Secure Print or Proof Print job. The following conditions also apply: I If the printer is on-line, the Item Up button is ignored. I If in the Ethernet, Token Ring or Novell Menu, pressing Item Up moves the cursor to the next character position of the value being entered (for example, IP Address, NetWare Server Name, NDS Tree Name, IP Sub Net Mask, etc.) so that the value of that character can be changed.
