Automatic Transmission (CVT) Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) On HX model Shift Lever Position Indicators Shifting SHIFT LEVER Honda's Continuously Variable Transmission's unique design provides a smooth, constant flow of power. It is electronically controlled for more precise operation and better fuel economy. RELEASE BUTTON These indicators on the instrument panel show which position the shift lever is in. The ''D'' indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to ON (II). If it flashes while driving (in any shift position), it indicates a possible problem in the transmission. Avoid rapid acceleration and have the transmission checked by a Honda dealer as soon as possible. To shift from any position, press the release button on the front of the shift lever. You cannot shift out of Park when the ignition switch is in LOCK (0) or ACCESSORY (I). 134 Driving
