Tires Replacing Tires Replace your tires with radial tires of the same size, load range, speed rating, and maximum cold tire pressure rating (as shown on the tire's sidewall). Mixing radial and bias-ply tires on your vehicle can reduce braking ability, traction, and steering accuracy. Using tires of a different size or construction can cause the ABS to work inconsistently. It is best to replace all four tires at the same time. If that is not possible or necessary, replace the two front tires or two rear tires as a pair. Replacing just one tire can seriously affect your vehicle's handling. If you ever replace a wheel, make sure that the wheel's specifications match those of the original wheels. Wheel and Tire Specifications Wheels: (U.S.: DX, Canada: DX) 14 x 5 1/2 JJ (U.S.: LX, Canada: LX) 15 x 6 JJ (U.S.: EX, Canada: Si) 15 x 6 JJ(Aluminum Wheel) (U.S.: HX) 14 x 5 1/2 JJ(Aluminum Wheel) Tires: (U.S.: DX, HX, Canada: DX) P185/70R14 87S (Canada: LX) P185/65R15 86H (U.S.: LX, EX, Canada: Si) P195/60R15 87H See page 210 for DOT tire quality grading information, and page 211 for tire size explanation. Installing improper tires on your vehicle can affect handling and stability. This can cause a crash in which you can be seriously hurt or killed. Always use the size and type of tires recommended in this owner's manual. 176 Maintenance
