Neglect, abuse, or failure to maintain the transmission can result in belt damage and failure. Inspection of the transmission drive belt is required at least every 2 000 km (1 200 mi.) or year of use whichever comes first, since drive belts wear with normal use. More frequent inspection is necessary if the vehicle is subjected to hard usage. Turn the rod clockwise or counterclockwise until
the drive select lever into the "N" position of the
shift guide and tighten the locknuts, then pull out
the standard tip/phillips screwdriver.
After adjustment, start the engine and test ride the
ATV to be sure the drive select lever is operating
properly.
