REAR SONAR SYSTEM (if so equipped) ● Do not modify the vehicle's suspension. If suspension parts such as shock absorbers, struts, springs, stabilizer bars, bushings and wheels are not NISSAN approved for your vehicle or are extremely deteriorated the Vehicle Dynamic Control system may not operate properly. This could adversely affect vehicle handling performance, and the VDC OFF indicator light may come on. ● If brake related parts such as brake pads, rotors and calipers are not standard equipment or are extremely deteriorated, the Vehicle Dynamic Control system may not operate properly and the Vehicle Dynamic Control off indicator light may come on. ● If engine related parts such as the muffler are not standard equipment or are extremely deteriorated, the "VDC OFF" indicator or SLIP" indicator or both indicator lights may illuminate. ● When driving on extremely inclined surfaces such as higher banked corners, the Vehicle Dynamic Control system may not operate properly and the VDC OFF indicator light may come on. Do not drive on these types of roads. ● When driving on an unstable surface such as a turntable, ferry, elevator or ramp, the Vehicle Dynamic Control off indicator light may illuminate. This is not a malfunction. Restart the engine after driving onto a stable surface. ● If wheels or tires other than the recommended ones are used, the Vehicle Dynamic Control system may not operate properly and the Vehicle Dynamic Control off indicator light may come on. ● The Vehicle Dynamic Control system is not a substitute for winter tires or tire chains on a snow covered road. LSD0088 WARNING ● Always turn and look back before backing up. The RSS is not a substitute for proper backing procedures. ● Read and understand the limitations of the rear sonar system as contained in this section. Inclement weather may affect the function of the RSS; this may include reduced performance or a false activation. ● This system is not designed to prevent contact with small or moving objects. 5-22 Starting and driving

Do not modify the vehicle’s suspension.
If suspension parts such as shock ab-
sorbers, struts, springs, stabilizer bars,
bushings and wheels are not NISSAN
approved for your vehicle or are ex-
tremely deteriorated the
Vehicle
Dy-
namic Control system may not operate
properly. This could adversely affect ve-
hicle
handling performance, and the
VDC OFF indicator light may come on.
If brake related parts such as brake
pads, rotors and calipers are not stan-
dard equipment or are extremely dete-
riorated, the Vehicle Dynamic Control
system may not operate properly and
the Vehicle Dynamic Control off indica-
tor light may come on.
If engine related parts such as the muf-
fler are not standard equipment or are
extremely deteriorated, the “VDC OFF”
indicator or SLIP” indicator or both in-
dicator lights may illuminate.
When driving on extremely inclined sur-
faces such as higher banked corners,
the
Vehicle
Dynamic Control
system
may not operate properly and the VDC
OFF indicator light may come on. Do
not drive on these types of roads.
When driving on an unstable surface
such as a turntable, ferry, elevator or
ramp, the Vehicle Dynamic Control off
indicator light may illuminate. This is
not a malfunction. Restart the engine
after driving onto a stable surface.
If wheels or tires other than the recom-
mended ones are used, the Vehicle Dy-
namic Control system may not operate
properly and the Vehicle Dynamic Con-
trol off indicator light may come on.
The Vehicle Dynamic Control system is
not a substitute for winter tires or tire
chains on a snow covered road.
WARNING
Always turn and look back before back-
ing up. The RSS is not a substitute for
proper backing procedures.
Read and understand the limitations of
the rear sonar system as contained in
this section. Inclement weather may af-
fect the function of the RSS; this may
include reduced performance or a false
activation.
This system is not designed to prevent
contact with small or moving objects.
