MAINTENANCE Fuel System Check Fuel Hose, Rail, and Connections Inspect the fuel hoses for cracks or damage. Inspect the hose connection at the fuel pump and at the fuel rail for dampness or stains from leaking or dried fuel. Check Crankcase Ventilation Hose and Connections Remove the operators seat and fuel tank. Inspect the crankcase ventilation hose for cracks or damage. Inspect the hose connection at the air cleaner and at the crankcase for dampness or stains from leaking. Evaporative Emission Control System (California models only) Visually inspect all evaporative emission control system hoses and connections. Make sure all connections are tight. Also, inspect the evaporative canister to make sure it has not been damaged. Fuel Tank Removal 1. To remove the fuel tank, remove the operator's seat. 2. Remove the front and rear fuel tank mounting screws. 3. With engine and exhaust cool, remove fuel rail bleed valve cap. Wrap a clean rag around the valve and relieve the fuel line pressure by depressing the center of the bleed valve. 1 1. Fuel Rail Bleed Valve Cap 102
