PRE-OPERATION CHECK Check Brakes Rear Brake Pedal Freeplay and Movement Rear brake pedal freeplay, the amount of brake pedal movement from the rest position to the point of contacting the master cylinder, should be 3/16-5/16 inch (5-8 mm). Adjust pedal freeplay as necessary (see page 113). Press and release the rear brake pedal. It should move freely and smoothly and should return to its rest position quickly when you release it. You should feel a firm resistance in the pedal within the first 3/4 inch (19 mm) of pedal travel. 3/16-5/16 inch (5-8 mm) Rear Brake Fluid Level 1. To check the rear brake fluid level, remove the right side cover. Straddle the motorcycle and bring it to a vertical position. 2. View the brake fluid through the reservoir. Rear Brake Fluid Level
1.
