1.2 Core Specifications The P4T533 motherboard is designed and assembled according to the highest standards. This ASUS motherboard represents the latest advances and supplies users the finest components available today... Latest P4 Processor Technology: Intel® Pentium® 4 Socket 478 Northwood Processor. The Pentium 4 processor with 512KB L2 cache on a 0.13 micron processor core implements a 533MHz, quad-pumping system bus with a 133MHz system clock; the result: 4.3 GB/s data transfer rates are achieved. The P4 offers optimized performance for top-end software, audio, video and Internet applications. (See page 12 and 24.) North Bridge Chipset: the Intel® 850E (82850E Memory Controller Hub,) I/O Controller and Firmware Hub) with support for AGP 4X Mode, (1.5 volt only); 533/400MHz Front Side Bus (FSB); and dual channel RDRAM. Intel ICH2: The Intel I/O Controller Hub 2 (82801BA ICH2 B4) features support for UltraDMA/100, which allows burst mode data transfer rates of up to 100MB/sec; and two USB controllers for a total of 4 USB ports. Intel® Accelerated Hub Architecture: Features a dedicated high speed hub link between the ICH2 and MCH with a bandwidth of 266MB/sec - twice the maximum bandwidth of the PCI bus. RIMM4200/3200 Memory Support: Equipped with two Rambus Inline Memory Module (RIMM) 232-pin sockets to support 32-bit Intel RIMM4200/ 3200-compliant Rambus DRAMs (RDRAMs) up to 2GB. (See page 18.) Optional Promise® chip: The Promise IDE controller chips supports the ATA-133 protocol and UltraDMA/133 data transfer speeds. The chip delivers reliable redundancy and stable performance for RAID levels 0 or 1. RAID 0, data "striping," improves speed performance as I/O tasks are spread between two hard disk drives. RAID 1, data "mirroring," improves fault tolerance by optimizing two hard disks to write data to each other. (See page 100.) Smart BIOS: 4Mb firmware enables Vcore adjustments, boot block write protection, and HD/SCSI/MO/ZIP/CD/Floppy boot selection. Onboard LAN: The motherboard incorporates the Intel® 82562ET PHY chip to support 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet networking.
