Care and Maintenance Stowingthe Headset Bose'recommendsthat you do not leavethe Headsetinyour cockpitorin direct sunlight betweenflights,for severalreasons.Whilethe Headsethasbeendesignedfor storageat temperaturesup to 158°F(70°C),cumulative exposuretohightemperatureswillslowly causechangesin the electretmicrophone elementsin the earcups,reducingtheir active noisereductionperformance.Additionally,the gelintheClearComfort- Cushionsstoresheat. WearingtheHeadsetafter it hasremainedin anextremelyhotor coldcockpitmaybe uncomfortablefor severalminutes. Toassuremanyyearsof enjoymentandto protectyour investment,take your Headset withyou whenyou leavethe aircraft.A lined, drawstringbaghasbeenprovidedwiththe system, for stowingthe Headsetbetween flights.Tostowthe Headset: 1. Bendandrotatetheboomintheclipso thatthe boomextendsbelowand then up thesideof theoppositeearcup(see Figure 4). 2. CoiltheHeadsetcable;donotwrapthe cablewoundthe yokearms.Thisavoids pullingthecushionstogetherand compressingthem. 3. PlacetheHeadsetinitsstorageposition with theearcupsrestingcushion-tocushioninthedrawstringbag. Stowing
the
Headset
Bose'
recommends
that
you
do
not
leave
the
Headset
in
your
cockpit
orin
direct
sunlight
between
fl
ights,
for several
reasons.
While
the
Headset
has
been
designed
for
storage
at
temperatures
up
to
158°F
(70°C),
cumulative
exposure
tohigh
temperatures
will
slowly
cause
changes
in
the
electret
microphone
elements
in
the earcups,
reducing
their
active
noise
reduction
performance.
Additionally,
the
gel
in the
ClearComfort
-
Cushions
stores
heat.
Wearing
theHeadset
after
it
has
remained
in
an
extremely
hot
or
cold
cockpitmay
be
uncomfortable
for
several
minutes.
To
assure
many
years
of
enjoyment
and
to
protect
your
investment,
take
your
Headset
with
you when
you
leave
the
aircraft.
A
lined,
drawstring
bag
has
been
provided
with
the
system,
for
stowing
the
Headset
between
fl
ights.
To
stow
the
Headset:
1.
Bend
and
rotatethe
boom
in
the
clip
so
that
the
boom
extends
below
and
then
up
the
sideof
the
oppositeearcup
(see
Figure
4).
2.
Coil
the
Headsetcable;
do
not
wrap
the
cable
wound
the
yoke
arms.
This
avoids
pulling
thecushions
together
and
compressing
them.
3.
Place theHeadset
in
its
storage
position
with
the
earcups
resting
cushion
-to
-
cushion
in
the
drawstring
bag.
NOTE:
II
you
place
the
Portable
Interfacein
the
bag
as
well,
be
careful
not
to
scratch
the
fi
nish
on
the
Headset.
