3550-US-5.0 BASIC SETUP TO RECEIVE FAXES RECEIVING FAXES AND OTHER CALLS Manual Reception (Manual Mode) When you set the Answer Mode to Manual, you must answer each incoming call yourself. Here is what you should do when using Manual Mode: If You Get a... Then You Should... 1. Regularphonecall 2. Phonecallandrequest to send a fax 3. Fax tone... Talk as you normally would. PressStart whenfinishedtalking,andreplacethehandset. Note: Sender must also press Start. Press S t a r t, and replace the handset. Automatic Fax Reception (Fax Mode) You can automatically receive all your faxes in Automatic Fax Reception mode (Fax light is ON). Select this mode by pressing M o d e. Setting the Ring Delay You can set the number of rings before the fax machine will answer the line. KEYS TO PRESS 1. Press Function. 2. Press 6. 3. Press 2. 4. Press Z (left arrow) or X (right arrow) repeatedly until you find the number of rings you want. Example: 00. When you set 00, you can receive your incoming faxes with no rings. 5. Press Set. 6.
