II. TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS A •When the red-eye reduction lamp is on, the shutter will be released about 1 second after the shutter button is completely pressed down. •When the red-eye reduction lamp is on, the display in the viewfinder will indicate this with the mark. The red-eye reduction lamp is effective when the subject is looking towards it, however the level of effectiveness can vary from person to person. Focussing on Subjects at the Edge of the Viewfinder When taking photographs where the subject is outside the center focus mark in the viewfinder, focus in the following way: 1. Cover the subject you wish to have in focus with the AF frame and press the shutter button halfway. Press the shutter button all the way down to take the picture. 20
