Using the Fax Functions Useful Features Notifying the Recipient of an Incoming Fax by Telephone (Manual Sending) Send a fax manually when • You want to notify the recipient of an incoming fax by telephone • The receiving fax machine cannot receive faxes automatically Keys to be used for this operation FAX Numeric keys NOTE Restrictions when sending faxes manually When placing documents on the platen glass, only one page can be sent. Furthermore, the group dialing function is not available. • The 2-sided printing document cannot be scanned. (The 2-sided printing scan setting will be invalid.) You cannot use the mode. The mode is not available when you perform manual sending. Check for a dial tone before entering the number. When the number is entered before checking for a dial tone, your call cannot come through or may be connected to a wrong destination. Start 1 Connect an external telephone to the machine.
