Initializing the Built-In Memory ( / only) or Memory Card Initialize memory cards when you use them with this camcorder for the first time. You can also initialize a memory card or the built-in memory ( / only) to permanently delete all the data it contains. / At the time of purchase, the built-in memory comes pre-initialized and contains music files that can be used as background music during playback. Options ( 24) [INITIALIZE] Clears the file allocation table but does not physically erase the stored data. [COMPL.INIT.] Erases all data completely. / FUNC. [ MENU] [ MEMORY OPER.] [INITIALIZE] The memory you want to initialize Initialization method [YES]* [OK] FUNC. Initialization method [YES]* [OK] FUNC. * Press to cancel the complete initialization while it is in progress. All recordings will be erased but the recording media can be used without any problem. IMPORTANT • Initializing the memory will permanently erase all data. Lost original recordings cannot be recovered. Make sure you save important recordings in advance using an external device ( 72). • When the memory is initialized, music files will also be erased. - Windows users: Use the supplied software Music Transfer Utility to transfer the music files on the supplied Instruction Manual/Music Data Disc CD-ROM. For details, refer to the software's instruction manual (PDF file). - Mac OS users: Use the Finder to transfer the music files on the supplied Instruction Manual/Music Data Disc CD-ROM. Refer to Music Files ( 103) for the folder structure of the memory and CD-ROM. • While the initialization is in progress, do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder. recordings will be erased but the recording
media can be used without any problem.
IMPORTANT
Initializing the memory will permanently
erase all data. Lost original recordings
cannot be recovered. Make sure you
save important recordings in advance
using an external device (

When the memory is initialized, music
files will also be erased.
