Clearing jammed paper Clearing Jammed Paper from the Cassette If paper from the Cassette becomes jammed, the following messages are shown on the Display Screen of the Control Panel. How to clear the paper jam varies depending on the message. • Cannot detect papr (→P.177) • Paper jam. (→P.179) If Cannot detect papr is displayed If paper is jammed in the paper feed slot of the cassette 1. Grasp the handle (a) on the front of the Cassette and pull it forward a little. Holding the Cassette on both sides with both hands, remove the cassette. 2. Clear any jammed paper from the paper feed slot of the Cassette. After removing the paper, make sure there are no other scraps of paper in the printer. 3. Holding the Cassette on both sides with both hands, insert it rmly into the printer. Troubleshooting 683
