6-17 Solving Memory Problems If you encounter memory problems, some common causes and solutions are listed in the following table: Table 6-8 Solving Memory Problems Problem System won't boot or does not function properly after installing additional memory modules Cause Solution Memory module is not the correct Replace module with an industry- type or speed grade for the standard, ECC, unregistered, system. 168-pin synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) DIMM that meets the following criteria: System Bus 100 MHz Rated for 100 MHz or faster operation.
