2-5 Server Warnings and Precautions WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal system components to cool before touching. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment: s Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The grounding plug is an important safety feature. s Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet that is easily accessible at all times. s Disconnect power from the server by unplugging the power cord from either the electrical outlet or the server. CAUTION: Protect the server from power fluctuations and temporary interruptions with a regulating uninterruptible power supply (UPS). This device protects the hardware from damage caused by power surges and voltage spikes and keeps the system in operation during a power failure. CAUTION: The ProLiant 1600 and ProLiant 1200 Servers must always be operated with the system unit cover on. Proper cooling will not be achieved if the system unit cover is removed.
