Adding LDAP server The LDAP authentication method uses LDAP to exchange authentication credentials between the gateway and an external server. The LDAP server maintains a large database of users in a directory structure, so users with the same user name but different groups can be authenticated since the user information is stored hierarchically. Also, note that configuring an LDAP server on Windows or Linux servers is considerably less complex than setting up NT Domain or Active Directory servers for user authentication. The fields available in this section are as follows: Field Server name Authentication type Primary server Port Base DN Description Enter the name of the server. Select LDAP as the type of server. Enter the IP address of the authentication server. Enter the authentication server port. Enter the base domain name. Adding POP3 Server POP3 is an application layer protocol most commonly used for email over a TCP/IP connection. The authentication server can be used with SSL encryption over port 995 to send encrypted traffic to the POP3 server. A CA certificate verifies the POP3 server's certificate.
