Memory: Dell Precision M6400 Service Manual 1 tab 3 DIMM A and DIMM B 2 notch 4 DIMM C and DIMM D 3. To replace DIMM A or DIMM B: a. Replace the keyboard (see Replacing the Keyboard). b. Replace the LED cover (see Replacing the LED Cover). 4. To replace DIMM C or DIMM D: a. Replace the base assembly cover (see Replacing the Base Assembly Cover). 5. Follow the procedures in After Working on Your Computer. As the computer boots, it detects the additional memory and automatically updates the system configuration information. To confirm the amount of memory installed in the computer: In Microsoft® Windows® XP, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop. Click Properties® General.
