For more safety best practices, see the Regulatory Compliance home page at www.dell.com/regulatory_compliance. Prerequisites 1. Remove the base cover. 2. Remove the I/O-board interposers. 3. Remove the heat sink. Procedure 1. Open the latch and disconnect the camera cable from the system board. 2. Peel the camera cable from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 3. Peel the tape that secures the display-cable bracket to the system board. 4. Remove the two screws (M1.6x1.8) that secure the display-cable bracket to the system board and lift the bracket off the system board. 5. Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable from the system board. 6. Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the wireless-antenna bracket to the I/O board and lift the bracket off the I/O board. 7. Disconnect the antenna cables from the I/O board. 8. Open the computer at a 180-degree angle and place it on a flat and clean surface with the display screen facing down. 9. Remove the six screws (M2.5x4) that secure the display assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 10. Lift the display assembly from the palm-rest assembly. 40 Removing the display assembly

Prerequisites
1.
Remove the
base cover

2.
Remove the
I/O-board interposers
.
3.
Remove the
heat sink
.
Procedure
1.
Open the latch and disconnect the camera cable from the system board.
2.
Peel the camera cable from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
3.
Peel the tape that secures the display-cable bracket to the system board.
4.
Remove the two screws (M1.6x1.8) that secure the display-cable bracket to the system board and lift the bracket off the system
board.
5.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable from the system board.
6.
Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the wireless-antenna bracket to the I/O board and lift the bracket off the I/O board.
7.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the I/O board.
8.
Open the computer at a 180-degree angle and place it on a flat and clean surface with the display screen facing down.
9.
Remove the six screws (M2.5x4) that secure the display assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
10.
Lift the display assembly from the palm-rest assembly.
