Stereo Amplifier Connection 1 Connect one end of a standard, red/white audio cable to the R and L Audio Output Variable connectors on the back of your TV. 2 Connect the other end of the audio cable to the R and L Audio Line Input connectors on your stereo amplifier. Note You can't connect external speakers to the TV directly; you must connect them to a stereo amplifier. For best sound quality, you may want to connect the amplifier directly to your audio sources (DVD player, HDTV tuner, etc.).
