5.3 Host Commands • Status Flag Bit 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 to 15 Meaning If this bit is 1, it indicates normal operations are assured with the attribute when the attribute value exceeds the threshold value. If this bit is 1 (0), it indicates the attribute only updated by an online test (off-line test). If this bit 1, it indicates the attribute that represents performance. If this bit 1, it indicates the attribute that represents an error rate. If this bit 1, it indicates the attribute that represents the number of occurrences. If this bit 1, it indicates the attribute that can be collected/saved even if SMART is disabled. Reserve bit • Current attribute value It indicates the normalized value of the original attribute value. The value deviates in a range of 01h to 64h (range of 01h to C8h for the Ultra ATA CRC error rate and communication error rate). It indicates that the closer the value is to 01h, the higher the possibility of a failure. The host compares the attribute value with the threshold value. If the attribute value is larger than the threshold value, the drive is determined to be normal. • Attribute value for the worst case so far This is the worst attribute value among the attribute values collected to data. This value indicates the state nearest to a failure so far. • Raw attribute value Raw attributes data is retained. • Off-line data collection status C141-E293 5-61

Reserve bit
Current attribute value
It indicates the normalized value of the original attribute value.
The value deviates
in a range of 01h to 64h (range of 01h to C8h for the Ultra ATA CRC error rate
and communication error rate).
It indicates that the closer the value is to 01h, the
higher the possibility of a failure.
The host compares the attribute value with the
threshold value.
If the attribute value is larger than the threshold value, the drive
is determined to be normal.
Attribute value for the worst case so far
This is the worst attribute value among the attribute values collected to data.
This
value indicates the state nearest to a failure so far.
Raw attribute value
Raw attributes data is retained.
