VERTICAL CALCULATOR (VCALC) The VCALC page uses GPS position, GPS computed altitude, and pilotselected parameters to calculate and display the time to begin descent and vertical speed required to reach a desired altitude above a designated waypoint offset. The screenshot below is a sample profile for an aircraft to be at 2000 feet MSL 4 NM before KPBI. Since the vertical speed is set to 400 feet per minute, the descent needs to begin in 2 minutes and 12 seconds. At the present location, a vertical speed rate of -328 feet per minute is required to reach the target. There are no menu options for the VCALC Profile page. * * Touch to set target altitude. VCALC Key Touch to set target altitude. Touch to enter distance offset from target waypoint. Touch to select Before or After waypoint. Status of Profile VCALC Page Touch to enter vertical speed.
