Replacing the CMOS battery

Fan cable Fan retention screw Fan retention screw 4 Unscrew the four fan retention screws holding the fan to the back of the chassis. 5 Pull the fan from the chassis, noting the orientation. Important Make sure that the new fan is oriented the same way (air flow) as the old fan. 6 Insert the new fan into the chassis, then replace the fan retention screws. 7 Plug the fan cable into the fan connector on the system board. 8 Follow the instructions in "Closing the server case" on page 24. Replacing the CMOS battery Warning There is a danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type of battery recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries following the manufacturer's instructions. If the server clock does not keep time or the settings in the BIOS Setup utility are not saved when you turn off the server, replace the CMOS battery with an equivalent battery. To replace a back fan:

Replacing the CMOS battery
