Care and cleaning of the range. J Appearance may varg The grates may be cleaned in a dishwasher. Left Front Center RightFront Arcs , Burner Grates Your range has three proti_ssional-s_'le double grates. These grates are positionspecific. For maximum stability, these grates should only be used ill their l)roper position; they cannot be ii_terchanged left to right or fl'ont to back. For coi_velfience, the tmdelsides ot the lett aim right grates are inarked "I,EVT FRONT" and "PdGHT FRONT." Make sure the fl'ont i)ortion of both grates is in fl'ont. The middle grate has a bow in fl'ont. Make sure the bowed portion is towards the front of the range. Cleaning Lift out when cool. Grates should be washed regularly and, el comse, after spillove_s. Wash them in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water: _4]_en replacing the grates, be sm'e they are positioned secm'elv over the burne_. Replace the grates so that contintmus arcs are fimned with the center fibs of all three grates. Do not opel'ate a btlYner lk)r an extended period ot time without cookware on the grate. The finish on the grate may chip without cookware to absorb the heat. To get rid ot bm'ned-on toed, place the grates in a covered container Add l/4 cup ammonia and let them soak several hom_ or overnight. Wash, rinse well and d_T. Mthough gradually they are din'able, the grates will lose their shine, regardless ot the best care you can give them. This is due to their continual exposure m high temperatures. You will notice this sooner with lighter color grates. NOTE: Do not clean the grates in a self-cleaning oven. 2 Cooktop Surface To avoid damaging the porcelain enamel surfilce of the cooktop and to prevent it from becoming dull, clean up spills right awaz Foods with a lot of add (tomatoes, sauerkraut, ti'uitj uices, etc.) or toods with high sugar content allowed to set. could cause a dull spot if X_]_en the sm_i_ce has cooled, wash and rinse. For other spills such as ti_t spatterings, etc., wash with soap and water once the surfi_ce has cooled. Then rinse and polish with a (h_' cloth.
