[] CHECK IGNITION OF SURFACE BURNERS Operation of all cooktop and oven bm'ners should be checked alter the range and gas SUl)ply lines have been careflfllv checked tor leaks. Electric Ignition Models Select a top bm'ner knob and simultaneously push in and tm'n to LITE position. You will hear a clicking sotmd indicating proper operation of the spark modtfle. Once the air has been purged fl'om the suI_ply lines, burners should light within 4 seconds. After burner lights, rotate knob out of the LITE position. Try each burner in succession burners have been checked. until all Quality of Flames The combustion quality of burner determined visually. flames needs to be (A) Yellow flames-Call for service (B) Yellow tips on outer cones-Normal for LP gas (C) Soft blue flames--Normal for natural gas If burner flames look like (A), call for service.
