Page 38 highlights

OPERATION • Audio Track: The audio track is indicated both numerically and by name. The first number indicates the current audio selection, and the second number displays the total number of available audio options. In the example shown in Figure 37, the current audio selection is Dolby Digital 2-channel audio in the English language. • Subtitle: If a subtitle has been selected, its number will appear to the left and the total number of available subtitle languages will appear to the right. The language's name will also be displayed to the right of the numbers. In Figure 37 subtitling has been turned off. • Angle: The current camera angle appears to the left, and the total number of available angles at the current point on the disc appears to the right. As shown in Figure 37, when no additional angles are available, the number 1 appears in both places. • Bitrate: This line is informational only. It indicates the current video bitrate, which varies while a disc is playing. For DVD-Audio discs a slightly different Status Display appears. See Figure 38. Again the Title Bar indicates the disc type, and displays the elapsed and remaining times. You may change the current group, track, time location, audio track, subtitle language, camera angle or still image page by navigating to the current selection. Use the Numeric Keys to enter the desired selection within the range indicated by the total number to the right, and press the Enter Button for the new selection to take effect. Figure 38 - DVD-Audio Status Display • Group: Displays the current group number and the total number of groups on the disc. • Track: Shows the current track and the total number on the disc. • Time Display: Shows the elapsed time. The Time Search function is available. Use the ‹ /› Buttons to highlight this display. Use the Numeric Keys to enter the time on the disc from when you wish play to commence. Press the Enter Button and play will begin at the selected time position. • Audio Track: The audio track is indicated both numerically and by name. In the example shown in Figure 38, the current audio selection is MLP Lossless (the DVD-Audio standard format) in 5.1 channels at a resolution of 96kHz and 24 bits. NOTE: With the DVD-Audio mode setting in the GENERAL SETUP menu set to DVD-Audio, only the DVD-Audio formats will be available. When this setting is changed to DVD-Video mode, lower-resolution formats, such as Dolby Digital and PCM, may be available if present on the disc, but the DVD-Audio formats will no longer be available. • Subtitle: If a subtitle has been selected, its number will appear to the left and the total number of available subtitle languages will appear to the right. As shown in Figure 38, when no additional angles are available, which is likely to be the case for most DVD-Audio discs, the number 1 appears in both places. • Page: Depending on how the disc is authored, if more than one still image is associated with the current track, you may be able to view a different image by selecting the current page and entering the number of the desired page, then pressing the Enter Button. However, in many cases only one image is associated with each audio track. Although the total number of pages corresponds to the total number of images on the disc, since the other images are associated with other tracks, you may not be able to view those images unless you select the associated track. Titles and Groups To select a title or group, first press the Status Button so that the Status Display appears. Navigate so that the Current Title or Group is highlighted. Use the Numeric Keys to enter the desired title/group, press the Enter Button and it will begin playing immediately. See Figures 37 and 38. A group may also be selected by pressing the Group Button on the remote (see Figure 39). Figure 39 - Group Button A dialog box similar to the one shown in Figure 40 will appear. Figure 40 - Group Dialog Box The number to the right of the slash indicates the total number of groups on the disc. Use the Numeric Keys or the ⁄/¤ Buttons to enter the number of the desired group. When you press the Enter Button, the DVD 48 will skip to that group. The number of the new group may not be displayed in the dialog box. 38

Group:

NOTE:

Titles and Groups
To select a title or group, first press the Status Button so that the Status

Use the Numeric Keys to enter the desired title/group, press the Enter
Button and it will begin playing immediately

A group may also be selected by pressing the Group Button on the
remote (see Figure 39).

A dialog box similar to the one shown in Figure 40 will appear.

The number to the right of the slash indicates the total number of
groups on the disc. Use the Numeric Keys or the

¤
Buttons to
enter the number of the desired group. When you press the Enter
Button, the DVD 48 will skip to that group. The number of the new
group may not be displayed in the dialog box.
